I've been rewatching a couple older hbomb videos and hey
halcyon dreams: the legacy of dragon's lair watches a lot more like a dry run of the oof noise video than i remember. it is a deep dive into an obscure section of video game history, complete with its own misattribution to a famous studio head. it's fun, both on its own terms as a spectacular technological failure that was a bit too ahead of its time, and as a running thread within harry's ouvre.
outsiders: how to adapt h.p. lovecraft in the 21st century is. well, it feels very weird because in a way. it reads a lot more like somerton's work than i would have expected, while predating it entirely (i think. it's a five year old video and well. i can't check somerton's timestamps cause he did the dirty delete). harry is darkly and thematically lit, addressing the camera straight on without the high-energy that his other videos tended to have, speaking thoughtfully about how queer and marginalized fans of Lovecraft relate to his work despite being hated and feared by the author himself, and that his understanding of the mythos was upturned by a quiet adaptation that centered around a gay man's alienation from his home town loosely based on the shadow over innsmouth. it engaged thoroughly with queerness as a place of vulnerability and strength without inventing some infinitely weak yet unfathomably strong queer agenda. there's no real hint from the thumbnail that it's about queer themes, but that's because harry is doing the same thing that happened to him, creating a piece of overt lovecraft media that might shock the viewer that was here for cosmic horror as a lore element.
i'm genuinely not trying to say that somerton ripped off harry's one video specifically or anything, but it does make if feel more personal, to be reminded that harry did this once, when he had something incredibly personal to say on the subject and years of genuine passion and systematic research to back it up, with intent to reach out to other people who loved and were repulsed by lovecraft the same way he was. and at 1.5 million views, it's not like the video was languishing in complete obscurity or anything, but it's not culturally significant in the way that sherlock or some of the later videos are. people keep making a bit of a joke of harry reminding everyone that he's bi to dodge the homophobia allegations, but people genuinely do not really talk about hbomb as a queer creator, to the point where a good chunk of posters just. genuinely did not know about it. i'm not really sure what to say about it either way, other than... yeah, this happens a lot to bisexuals who don't make their entire brand pink purple and blue, and it's not like. THAT funny to keep using the sonic fandub screencap about a real person who's been out for half a decade, even if it was news to you.

Imagine if you could go back in time to add more to Quake 1 or even if Nightdive were allowed to do a "Legacy of Rust" treatment on Quake except it's an alt mode where new stuff is added to the base campaign (And the MachineGames episodes).
Like what would you add to Quake in terms of more content just because of how limited the game came out, even if as an optional mode?
Like an official equivalent to mods like Quake 1.5 or something
Bosses
An easy one in concept: After getting the runes in the 2nd/3rd/4th episodes, you go to the portal and suddenly there's this extra room/level where you fight some monsters and then the text shows up as usual.
Maybe these bosses could be based on some of the big gods or whatever introduced in Quake Champions lore, i dunno.
Weapons
One thing is buffing the axe a bit, but i also had the idea of bringing the Mjolnir from Scourge of Armagon and making it so it's still useable even without the cells: Just a strong hammer.
What if you want to use it underwater or fear wasting cell ammo?
Maybe we could make the Mjolnir as an upgrade to the axe and the other "alt melee" is a chainsaw type weapon: Make it the Q3 gauntlet because it technically is more unique as a Quake equivalent to the chainsaw.
Other than that, i think we could go without the Rail-gun or BFG.
Enemies
There's a lot we can go with in terms of inspiration:
Looking into Quake 1's unused concepts
Quake 2 enemies
Quake 1 mission packs
Certain enemy concepts in Doom
Specially Doom The Dark Ages' Cosmic enemies
Maybe mods like Arcane Dimensions
To me, a priority is what could be the Arch-vile of Quake?
Because imagine if there's an enemy that directly supports the others.
Like a resurrector or healer or something and then they could also have an attack that other Quake monsters don't have.
I guess you could also give Quake an Arachnotron style turret enemy (Because the Centroid has nails which can be harder to see compared to some slow plasma orbs), a flamethrower enemy or a Cybermanc style pool of acid enemy.
Resources?
I think what Quake is missing is armor/health bonus pickups or just small ones you can place on the map and they get to go beyond the 100 limit.
But then you have the Megahealth which gives temporary 100 health, so how do you work around that?
Maybe make it a challenge to make players avoid it, like how Doom players avoid green armor after having the blue one.
Also create an inverse to Megahealth: Something that regenerates health and can reach 200 but is placed in areas where things get rough, for a good reason.

It was a familiar dance. They would whir above, the creatures in Their strange, metal ship. A hatch would open underneath, and a light would beam down. Within that light would be her gift, one that rarely disappointed.
And this moon’s specimen was perfect: broad, tall, with a full beard and a disheveled outfit.
She caught the stranger as he collapsed forward and lowered him to the ground. “I got you,” she murmured, “you’re fine. I got you.”
“Where–where am I?” His voice rumbled from his chest, but despite the depth it was boyish–innocent even.
“You’re home,” Sirena smiled. Her teeth gleamed, and he shuddered.

Hogwarts Legacy: Read the Unwritten

This is a story we've all heard before��� a Hero's Journey— one where it was all supposedly uneventful on the surface, until we meet our mentor, before we're then called on an adventure of a lifetime. But there isn’t really just one perspective to a story, and a single good deed doesn’t instantly make one a Hero. So here’s a different take on the side quests that molded us as our characters, along with a rather sentient Field Guide, and an expectedly sad past that forged a young student to stomach the trials she had to endure.
Disclaimer: This is a work of fan fiction, though some dialogue is taken from the story set in Hogwarts Legacy. I’m just adding a personal sense of coherence to parts that may have been expanded on or scenes that could have personally been added to the storyline. No copyright infringement is intended.
Trigger warnings: implied human and animal trafficking during the late 1800s and mentions of death and the heavy sadness that comes with it. (trauma babies. you can’t expect some of these kids to brush their fifth-year happenings off, right?)
What to expect:
-Words. Lots of it. I have a terrible habit to nitpick certain movements and actions, which can turn this into a really looong run (and ambitious project). There’s still a chance to stop reading now if you want your social life back.
-Speaking about that, Hogwarts Legacy has me in a chokehold and is the reason why my brain can’t stop making up certain scenarios. (all the wonderful HCs in this fandom helps in keeping the voices at
bay… for now.) Might also skip the parts that are pretty self-explanatory, and/or feels redundant.
-F!MC who I like to mainly focus on story building around the Wizarding world's fantastic lore, though there will be a touch of slow burn romance in a way but all I can see is some hand holding and hugging appropriate for their ages-- although one can’t discount dirty language, naughty jokes and teenage hormones (no matter the era). Always saw this ending as a polyamory or none at all (ride or die), will see how this pulls off in the end.

I just now realized that both Adam and Raziel are the small boys of their own duo. And by small I mean the other two are just insanely tall. This is just the second half of Part 4 of these ramblings that had to be split in two. Also, I really want Kain’s pants.
In which I chronicle my Legacy of Kain journey and bridge it with your boy Adam Warlock, and Thanos too for a bit! (Part 4.5 of many, not many SPOILERS for Soul Reaver 1 and 2)

I ended Part 4 talking about how both Raziel and Adam can’t stay dead for long.
 In Adam’s case, whenever he is killed / is mortally wonded / just needs a bit of solitude and peace and quiet, this gross ass cocoon forms around him and keeps him safe (similar to the one that gave him birth).

He stays there dissolving and reforming, metamorphosing for an uncertain amount of time (could be an instant, could be years), and coming out a little bit changed every time.

He’s had other methods of resurrection but this is the main “normal” one.
And I want to follow that with a bit of a tangent on how this “undying business” translates into gameplay with Raziel. I think the devs made it into a very interesting mechanic in my opinion, present in both Soul Reaver 1 and 2.
 Basically, if you lose all your health, you are transported to the Spiritual Realm  - a more spooky and eerie version of the Material Realm, where architecture bends, passages open and everything gains a bluish tint. I let myself be killed here as an example:

If you get killed while in the Spectral Realm, you are transported back to the last checkpoint (in Soul Reaver 1, you would be transported to the bottom of the Abyss and have to make your way up to where you were killed). Another example:

In Soul Reaver 2, even the checkpoints have an in-lore explanation, which I think is awesome, Raziel says:
"These ancient obelisks were mysteriously attuned to my spiritual essence. By simply touching the symbol, I could safely preserve an imprint of my soul, and thus create a milestone to which I could return when weary, and from which I could resume my journey."
You can also just shift to the Spiritual Realm whenever you please without having to die. Useful to gain access to previously inaccessible places:

But, even though you can go spiritual at will, to return to the Material Realm you need to be at specific marked points, and be at full health (done by consuming a few wandering souls):

I don't know if it is technically impressive or not for the PS1, Dreamcast and PS2 to pull this off, but I personally marvel at it every time. And I think it's an interesting way to represent immortality through gameplay, not just storywise.
I do wonder now how you would translate Adam’s resurrections into gameplay if Marvel had a game where he’s playable. I think some notes and ideas could be taken from Soul Reaver. Maybe while his body is being recreated in his cocoon, you take control of his soul, hanging out on Mistress Death’s domain, since he’s no stranger to that place. I don’t know, I guess I just want an excuse to see him and Death interact more:

Anyway... oh yeah! I spent so much time gushing all over the soul devouring mechanic in Soul Reaver 1 in my first post, that I forgot to show how it looks in Soul Reaver 2 in both Realms:

I'll be honest, I think I prefer the green flame look from the first game (probably because that was my first exposure to it), but I do like the Spiritual Realm version of the souls here with the little skulls flying about.
Ok, back to that scene between Raziel and Kain I started talking about in Part 4 when they’re at The Ruined Aerie .

I mentioned in Part 3, how it started to look like we might get a similar development for them to that of Thanos and Adam, in the sense of them going from sworn enemies to friends. And the tone of this meeting shows a nice little change in their relationship in that direction (yey! because I'm a huge unrepentant sucker for this kind of thing).
Whereas before their encounters were wholly antagonistic from Raziel's part, now it is much more ammicable. It's not sudenly smiles and hugs or anything, quite the opposite. Raziel does say that he will try and kill Kain if he even suspects that doing so will make things better. But it is noticeably different.  Instead of it being all like "face me and die monster!", like usual, we get this exchange:
Raziel:
"Oh no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens. I don't think I have the stomach for it."
Kain: (laughs softly):
"No drama this time, Raziel."
Nice.
In the last couple of scenes Raziel even openly defends Kain when talking to others, which would be unthinkable during Soul Reaver 1. Our greatest enemy in the previous game is now an ally of sorts, or the closest we have to that. And our previous benefactor, The Elder God, who rescued me form the Abyss and tasked me with destroying Kain and the vampire race, may not be as benevolant as he showed. 
Just awesome stuff here with your allies turning into foes and vice-versa the more we dig into this land's History. In fact, I'll just throw this out there, but the whole seemingly betrayal of Raziel, of Kain ripping his wings and throwing him into the Abyss...

I'm beginning to think that it may have been a necessary evil in Kain’s attempt to restore Nosgoth, and not so much a fit of jealousy as it was shown. But I'll reserve judgement. It kinda depends on when exactly did Kain stumble upon Moebius' secret lair and peered into the future. Like, if he knew that Raziel had to burn and become a wraith to help create the paradoxes. So for now it's just a random thought.
But yeah maybe Raziel's starting to see that Kain has been as much of a pawn as he is. Both forced to play out some part in a grand scheme, and both forced down a path of bad decision after bad decision. Just how Adam and Thanos get closer as they realise they’re more alike than they care to admit, especially in their flaws and shortcomings, and that each is the only person the other can really relate to on a deeper level.
I mean don't get me wrong, Kain is undeniably monstruous, but he seems to be genuinly trying to fix things and the raw deal he was given in life. So maybe we can get something like Thanos’ “redemption” years for Kain by the end of this cosmic drama:

Would like to see Kain getting out of this wiser (and Raziel too). Things seem to be pointing that way at least.
So once we do manage to travel to the distant past as we intended, to the big Vampire Purge Era (because Raziel wants to talk with this ancient vampire who supposedly knows about the Soul Reaver Sword, and is the only person who might tell me the whole truth), Soul Reaver 2 takes advantage of me and impales me through the heart:

My Merit Laws.
There is a lot to do in The Sims 4, and by extension a lot of ways to show your worth. The way the Legacy Challenge judges a sims Merit is based off of how many aspirations they have completed at the time that the founder dies, or the current heir brings in a child. I believe that this is flawed, there are many ways to have Merit, many more than just completing your aspirations. So, I devised a new way for an heir to be chosen. Big Change #1 - When the Heir is locked in. Originally, the Heir was "Locked in" once the previous Heir Dies. Or. the one most eligible at the time brings in a child. I thought that this was too grim, and it lowered the odds for a large upset, like a younger sim usurping the throne from their older sibling, so I changed the rules. Once the current Heir dies, the next Heir will be chosen. I made it simpler. With the usage of potions of youth, this may become a bit fuzzy, However, I have faith that it will work out. Big Change #2 - How the "Merit" is counted. I've never liked how the Merit was calculated in the Sims 4 Legacy Challenge, I always thought that it was a waste of all the objective stats the game gives you. I also never liked the negligence of the in game Skills. Like … its the MERIT category. So! I devised a little equation to figure out who the most deserving sim is! Skills - Each skill category will be calculated such that each level of the skill gets you that many points, plus the number of each level prior. I realize that seems kind of convoluted, so here is an example. Say Rachele has a level seven in the Violin skill. The points she would recieve would be 7+6+5+4+3+2+1 = 28 points. This way of counting rewards focusing on certain skills over flipping between many. I thought specialization was important for the heir to a legacy. Maxing a skill gives you 5 extra points. Points earned from maxing a skill Level 5 1+2+3+4+5 + 5 = 20 points Level 10 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10 + 5 = 60 points And for the Vampiric lore, that goes up to 15 … for some reason, I decided to cut each level's point gain in half. Otherwise it would net you 125 points. That's TWO ten level skills, plus change! 0.5+1+1.5+2+2.5+3+3.5+4+4.5+5+5.5+6+6.5+7+7.5 + 5 = 65 points. Aspirations - Ah yes, the aspirations, what once controlled the merit of a legacy, has now fallen, so … very … far. Each level of an aspiration is worth five points more than the last, starting at five points. Finishing an aspiration nets you a fifteen point bonus. For example Bodybuilder - 65 points total Basic Trainer: 5 points Exercise Demon: 10 points Fit to a T: 15 points Bodybuilder: 35 points School - Finishing, or being in school with an "A" is worth 10 Points. Favorites - This isn't exactly … "Merit" However, I thought it would be funny if the previous heir's least and most favorite would get more/less points because of their status. Most favorite - +1 point Least Favorite - -1 point That is all the Ideas I had! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

“Hey there! Longtime lurker, situational commenter!
Well now, it certainly looks like the cat’s out of the bag (and seemed to sneak out a LITTLE early, hehe)! I can’t express just how excited and honored I am to have been given the opportunity to bring my world to you all via the Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount. D&D has been such an influential element of my life, of who I am, and to have contributed to it in this way is beyond words.
I’ve spent the better part of 1.5 years working on this project, along with some incredible contributors, to make this something we could all be extremely proud of. I set out to create this book not as a tome specifically for fans of Critical Role, but as a love letter to the D&D community as a whole. Those who follow our adventures will find many familiar and enjoyable elements that tie into what they’ve experienced within our campaign. However, I want this book to not only be a vibrant, unique setting for non-critter players and Dungeon Masters young and old, experienced or new, but also a resource of inspiration for DMs to pull from regardless of what setting they are running their game in. I’ve done my very best to make it a dynamic, breathing world full of deep lore, detailed factions and societies, a sprawling gazetteer, heaps of plot hooks, and numerous mechanical options/items/monsters to perhaps introduce into your own sessions, or draw inspiration from to cobble together your own variations. I wanted this to be a book for any D&D player, regardless of their knowledge of (or appreciation of, for that matter) Critical Role. I made this for ALL of you.
I am also well-aware of how much negativity can permeate these spaces regarding myself and the games we play, and that’s ok! One could never expect our form of storytelling and gaming to be everyone’s cup of tea, and it could very well be that this just isn’t the book for you. I don’t begrudge you that, and I only hope one day we get a chance to roll some dice at a convention and swap stories about our love of the game. I know for some folks this isn't necessarily what they were hoping for the announcement to be, and for that I'm sorry.
As a person excited and clamoring for new settings to be brought into the D&D multiverse, I also understand the frustrations from some that this isn’t one of the “classics”. Believe you me, I’m one of the those who is ever-shouting “I want my Planescape/Dark Sun”, and said so loudly… multiple times while in the WotC offices. Know that my setting doesn’t eliminate, delay, or consume any such plans they may have for any future-such projects! I’m not stepping on such wonderful legacy properties, these same ones that inspired me growing up. This is just the new-kid stepping into that area and hoping one of the older kids will sit and have lunch with them. ;) If Wizards has any plans to release any of their much-demanded settings, they’ll come whether or not Wildemount showed up.
I also wanted to comment on the occasionally-invoked negative opinions on my homebrew designs I’ve seen here… and they aren’t wrong! I don’t have the lengthy design history and experience that many of you within this community do have. Outside of small, home-game stuff I messed with through the 2000’s, my journey on the path of public homebrew began as a reaction to online community demand and throwing out my inexperienced ideas in a very public space. Much of my early homebrew was myself learning as I went (as all of us begin), only with a large portion of the internet screaming at me for my mistakes and lack of knowledge. Even my Tal’Dorei Guide homebrew was rushed due to demands being made of me, and I continue to learn so many lessons since. The occasional unwarranted intensity aside, there is much appreciated constructive criticism I’ve received over the years (from reddit included) that has helped me grow and improve. Anyway, what I mention all this for is to express my thanks for all the wonderful feedback, the chances to learn from all of you as time has gone on, and the many elements of this book reflect that improvement as I took those lessons and collaborated with the official WotC team to make this as good as it could be.
Anyway, that’s enough rambling from an insecure nerd. I’m extremely proud of what we’ve done with this book. I hope you give it a shot and enjoy it. I really do. If you choose to pass on it, that’s totally cool and am just happy we find joy in the same pastime. Either way, be kind to each other, and keep on forging amazing stories together. <3

I was waiting for that anon to ask but since it appears they left for real I'm gonna ask it Land of departure and Destiny Islands :what are your ideas for DLCs ??

Land of Departure I honest to god want to know if it’s just like a KH1 Hollow Bastion situation where its like- is there a town below and we just never see it?? Or is it all on it’s own?
If we do see more of the castle, I would like to more of the personal living areas. Visiting any bedrooms, communal areas, idk. But I know that having any DLC for the Land of Departure will have to reveal more actual information, so I think that perhaps if we explore or even specifically see Eraqus’s chambers (calling it a bedroom sounds too fucking casual to me lmao) that there are chests (or battle portals) we can collect that have Report style journal entries. I really do think that Young Eraqus will continue to play a role in the next saga, so I think it would be cool to read more about his thoughts, secrets, or private adventures that reveal more about his role.
And maybe even about how Eraqus arrived there in the first place, moving away from Scala ad Caelum. Which I think would, in turn, reveal more about Scala and tell us if something bad happened to it– as it’s just weird to me that Nomura was like “eh let’s make this a thing all of a sudden even though I never mentioned it before except super duper vague references in BbS reports”. Even land of Departure has an explanation on it’s later absence as it turned into Castle Oblivion.
And I’m not sure how, but Land of Departure just seems like a ‘secret boss’ place to me, but I’m not sure if that’s just BbS Mysterious Figure and Mirage Arena speaking to me lmao. Still, I wouldn’t mind of returning to the main room of the Land of Departure where we woke ven up triggered a secret boss in KH3 (a rematch with No Heart using No Name would be a big fucking red flag for lore imo).

Destiny islands? Just let us explore like anything again please. When was the last game we got to explore Destiny Islands?? I stopped playing CoM on 1.5 (though of course I have seen all it’s cutscenes like a million times) and I never got to play Coded on mobile or the DS. And those games I’m just assuming you can play on Destiny Islands, maybe you can’t? Either way, It’s a been a hot minute for me in terms of exploring them lmao. Just let me look at the cave again.. let me take selfies with the cave drawing…. please…
But also really just going back and being able to explore the town, which i think would look fantastic in the new engine. I would love to see links to Kairi’s life, maybe walking by NPC school girls that mention her absence. 
But I think the main goal of this DLC would be to either show us connections to Xehanort’s childhood, or to show us the connection of the Dark Margin. With Xehanort, it would be interesting to see if any of Sora’s home life was similar to his. Did they go to the same school, live in the same neighborhood, have the same free time activities? I’m not sure how they would connect Xehanort specifically other then like, maybe a photo of him on a school wall for his perfect GPA or something lmao. Or perhaps Sora knowing older citizens who “knew a Xehanort once, but i think he died- he went missing long ago”.
And with connections to the Dark Margin, maybe somehow explain better why we see Aqua’s Defender now instead of closer to the time of KH1 lmao. Maybe I missed something but from what I remember it was kind of a strange, loose explanation that she lost it during the end of 0.2/KH1 when the worlds are restored. But maybe reusing the door the Sora created in KH3 to cross back over into the Dark Margin to fight another secret boss? Though I imagine that one would just be a heartless and not necessarily something that connects to the next Saga.

Resident Evil DASH: Canceled Sequel or Urban Legend?

As the upcoming Resident Evil Village looks to terrify some with its classic monsters and excite others with its giant vampire ladies, fans everywhere find reasons to reflect on the greatest franchise in horror game history. Yet, I’m willing to bet that even some of the biggest Resident Evil fans haven’t heard about the “missing” game in the franchise: Resident Evil: DASH.
For over twenty years, rumors of a canceled project known simply as Resident Evil: DASH have divided the Resident Evil fanbase. For some, it’s the ultimate missing part of Resident Evil‘s legacy. To others, it’s one of the longest-lasting urban legends in video game history and a rumor that, much like a Resident Evil zombie, never seems to die.
What’s the true story of Resident Evil: DASH, though? That’s what we’ll try to uncover today as we dive into the fascinating history of this nearly mythical game.
Resident Evil: DASH – The Other (Other) Resident Evil 2
There’s very little about the Resident Evil: DASH story that’s “simple,” but the simplest place to start is with the long-standing rumor that Resident Evil: DASH was essentially supposed to be the first follow-up to 1996’s Resident Evil.
Now, here is where things start to get complicated. You may recall that Resident Evil 2 started off as an almost entirely different game that was about 70% complete before Capcom decided to essentially start from scratch on what we now know as 1998’s Resident Evil 2. That scrapped version of the sequel is regularly referred to as Resident Evil 1.5, which is indeed something of a lost Resident Evil game. 
You may also recall that Capcom started working on Resident Evil Zero not long after Resident Evil’s release. That game was supposed to debut on the Nintendo 64DD (and later the N64), but Capcom struggled to fit the project on an N64 cartridge, so they eventually just released it for the GameCube in 2002.
So where does Resident Evil: DASH fit into that timeline? The most popular version of the game’s development story suggests that it either would have been the direct sequel to Resident Evil or a kind of “spin-off” meant to fill in the release date gap between Resident Evil and Resident 2 (which would place its likely intended release sometime in 1997). In some ways, you could almost consider it another Resident Evil 1.5. There were also rumors it would be released on the Sega Saturn as a replacement for (or extension of) the Resident Evil port eventually released on that console. 
Where does all this information come from? Well, most of the DASH talk seems to originate from an old magazine interview with Capcom’s Yoshiki Okamoto. I believe that the interview initially ran in a publication called Dengeki PlayStation, but there has been some dispute about the publication that originally ran the interview.
A translation of that interview that was passed around a few English language websites at the time included a reference to a game called Biohazard: DASH (sometimes translated to Resident Evil: DASH). In the coming years, various pieces of concept art were thrown around that reportedly showcased what DASH looked like during its early development stages before the whole thing was quietly canceled by Capcom. 
So what did DASH look like at that time? Funny you should ask…
Resident Evil: DASH Would Have Seen Jill and Chris Return to Spencer Mansion 
While reports suggest that an early version of Resident Evil: DASH featured entirely new characters, most rumors argue that Capcom decided fairly early on that the project should star Resident Evil protagonists Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield. 
In any case, most reports about Resident Evil: DASH’s story seem to agree that the game would have taken place about three years after the events of the original and was always designed to take players back to Spencer Mansion. In fact, it’s been said that the game’s world would have essentially served as a “greatest hits” tour of some of the original title’s most memorable locations, which really does seem to support the idea that DASH was meant as a side project rather than a fully-fledged sequel. 
You might be wondering how DASH would have brought us back to Spencer Mansion considering that the mansion was seemingly destroyed at the end of the first game. Well, it turns out that the DASH team reportedly accounted for that little problem and were working on a story that would have made DASH one of the strangest (and most fascinating) pieces of horror in the Resident Evil canon.

Resident Evil: DASH Was a Horror Game About Plants (and At Least One Spider)
Even though there have been a lot of conflicting reports about DASH over the years, one thing that everyone seems to agree on is that the project would have been a rare video game entry into the “natural” horror genre. Yes, Resident Evil: DASH would have gone full The Happening by telling a horror story starring plants. 
According to DASH’s rumored plot, the explosion at Spencer Mansion left the place in ruins but didn’t entirely wipe it off the map. Actually, the explosion would have unearthed a secret underground lab not seen in the first game where Umbrella reportedly experimented on plants. Remember the Plant 42 boss fight in the original game? Apparently, that plant was just the tip of the iceberg in regards to what Umbrella was working on in the deepest parts of the mansion. 
Now free from the lab, the mutated plants would have taken over the remains of Spencer Mansion, spawned new mutations, and would have even resurrected some creatures as plant/zombie hybrids. In fact, one piece of concept art suggests that the plan was to end Resident Evil: DASH with a fight against a giant plant with the face and features of Albert Wesker. Needless to say, the idea that Wesker had died and was resurrected as a plant hybrid would have drastically impacted Resident Evil lore had that story come to pass. 
I should also mention the giant spider. Early Resident Evil: DASH art featured a version of the Spencer Mansion lobby completely overrun with spider webs. There has been some speculation the webs were constructed by multiple spiders, but there is a more popular version of that story that suggests a giant spider would have served as one of the game’s main antagonists and may have even played a role similar to Mr. X in Resident Evil 2 or the Nemesis in Resident Evil 3. 
Honestly, all of that sounds amazing. I love the idea of a Resident Evil game starring plant-like monsters, and I really love the idea of a Resident Evil game that lets us explore the monster-inhabited ruins of Spencer Mansion. Indeed, the potential of that premise is a big part of the reason the Resident Evil: DASH rumors have stayed so strong over the years. 
Sadly, here’s where I’ve got to throw some cold water on this story. 
Resident Evil: DASH Rumors Are Based On a Major Mistranslation
Remember that Yoshiki Okamoto interview I mentioned earlier that many say is the only known official reference to a game called Biohazard: DASH? As it turns out, even that interview doesn’t include any references to such a game. In fact, there’s never been any official reference to such a project made by any member of the Capcom team (except for, perhaps, references to these rumors). 
See, Okamoto was actually talking about two separate projects in that interview: the Sega Saturn port of Biohazard and Rockman: DASH (which we know as Mega Man Legends in the West). A widespread mistranslation of the interview essentially combined those two games, and people became convinced that Capcom was working on a Resident Evil game we just never heard about again. 
From there, those who believed the story and those who were just happy to troll the rest of us joined forces to bolster the idea that there was this very convincing Resident Evil project canceled under mysterious circumstances. 
So all of that concept art for DASH was also created by fans, right? Well, no, actually. Most of that concept art came from Capcom and the Resident Evil team. In fact, the origins of those drawings are a big part of the reason why the DASH rumors have flourished after all these years. 
The “Real” Resident Evil: DASH Was a Scrapped Idea for a Resident Evil 2 Scenario
While it seems that some of the concept art for Resident Evil: DASH that has been circulated over the years may have been manufactured by fans, most of it comes from a combination of sources that were simply misrepresented when they were shared online. 
Resident Evil Zero is actually one of the biggest early contributors to the Resident Evil: DASH myth. A lot of concept art from that game has been attributed to DASH over the years. It’s easy enough to see why people would buy into the idea that art was associated with DASH at a time when most fans didn’t even know Zero existed, but even in the years that followed Zero‘s 2002 release, vague pieces of that title’s concept art have convincingly been misattributed to DASH.
While early art of Resident Evil Zero’s protagonists could help explain why some people felt that Resident Evil: DASH once starred new characters, it’s much more likely that particular rumor can be traced back to some leaked Resident Evil 1.5 character concepts. Again, a lot of people probably didn’t know the Resident Evil 1.5 development story back in the late ‘90s/early 2000s, so they may have assumed Resident Evil 2’s initial leading characters were somehow associated with Resident Evil: DASH. Even when people learned about Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil 1.5, all the behind-the-scenes stuff from that time seemed to get lumped together. 
What about all of those drawings of Spencer Mansion covered with spider webs and wildlife, though? Interestingly, it seems some of those drawings originate from Resident Evil 2’s development. Actually, in a 1998 magazine interview, Resident Evil writer Noboru Sugimura mentions that the team originally intended to have players leave the police station in Resident Evil 2 and eventually work their way back to a version of Spencer Mansion inhabited by “a monster that was left alive in the blasted out ruins of the lobby and dining hall.”
While there’s no mention of any plant monsters in that interview, it really does seem that the Resident Evil team once seriously considered featuring a version of Spencer Mansion typically associated with Resident Evil: DASH in Resident Evil 2. Like so many other things about that game, though, plans changed along the way.

So while Resident Evil: DASH must be considered an urban legend, it’s fascinating to see how so many of the rumors that have kept the project alive over the years are based on games that were eventually released or ideas that Capcom had considered at some point.

Sims 4 Queens of Mewni Legacy Challenge
This Challenge if based of svtfoe and a sims 3 challenge made by Eroskigala on Wattpad (do check theirs out if you have the full game). I don’t own Laundry day, StrangerVille and realm of magic but i tried to put them in as much as i can from what i know so if you are unable to do something in the challenge cause you don't have the pack for it, just ignore it

Rules:
⦁ Can use cheats to build a castle but don’t go too over board
⦁ Can use cheat if a sim is stuck and unable to move not matter what you do (and only if that reason)
⦁ Use the normal lifespan
⦁ Although in the show all the queens/rulers where female (except one, well kind of) you can choose if you want only male or female heirs or even both.
⦁ If you do have Realm of magic, I do recommend making them all witches
⦁ Have someone in the household paint the queen's portrait and name them painting of there royal alias and one with there family (spouse and kid/s)
⦁ Must complete everything for the queens unless you don't have a pack for e.g; can't do karaoke or be a a 5 star celebrity cause you don't own city living or get famous, sounds fair right?
⦁ Can use mods like royalty mod and MCCC for things like picking the gender of the child, etc.
⦁ Optional: if you can somehow find them or can make them, try giving them cheekmarks (only find one but it's only has the main for but will link if needed
⦁ Last thing: I posted this hours ago on the svtfoe Animo so can check it there
Gen 0 (Optional): 🎵Lyric Butterfly🎵
⦁ Must have the music lover and/or neat trait
⦁ May pick either the entertainer/musician and the style influencer career
⦁ Must have at least one child
⦁ Attend Karaoke at least once a week
⦁ Move out of the house/castle with your Spouse once your child is a teen
⦁ Find a crystal to use as the royal wand if you don't have realm of magic
⦁ If own get together, make a club with the magic high commission (may want to use MCCC to make them immortal)
Gen 1: ⌛️Skywynne Butterfly⌛️
⦁ Must master logic, writing
⦁ May complete the style influencer career
⦁ Complete the Bestselling Author aspiration
⦁ Must marry someone who has the detective, military or secret agent career (if you can find a knight career mod, you can you that)
⦁ Have one child
⦁ Wait until your child becomes a teen, then have a second child
⦁ The second child will become your heir
⦁ Have a good relationship with both of your kids
⦁ Own a clock
⦁ Buy a journal to use as the book of spells
Gen 1.5: 🍀Jushtin Butterfly🍀
⦁ Must have either the outgoing or insider trait
⦁ Must master the logic skill
⦁ Must Complete the party animal aspiration
⦁ Must attend every party they are invited to
⦁ Have four close friends they always invite to parties
⦁ Get an A in high School
⦁ Get married
⦁ Must have a university degree
⦁ Must became a 3-5 star celebrity
Gen 2: ⚡️Solaria Butterfly⚡️
⦁ Must have the Athletic trait
⦁ Must Complete the athlete (bodybuilder branch) or the Military (any branch) career
⦁ Must have only one child
⦁ Must never get married
⦁ Hate every supernatural creature, have at least 5 enemies with them (vampires, Aliens, mermaids, not witches) and don't let them in the castle
⦁ Have a good relationship with their child
⦁ Much be the one to introduce a future spouse to their child
⦁ Must die when their child is a teen (half way done the teen life stage would be the best)
Gen 3: ♠️Eclipsa Butterfly♠️
⦁ Must master the vampire lore and writing Skill
⦁ Must married someone their parent introduced to them
⦁ Never have any biological kids with the human spouse
⦁ Fall in love with either a vampire or Alien
⦁ Divorce your spouse and run away with your new supernatural spouse
⦁ Have a child with the new partner
⦁ Have the human spouse adopt a child and their will become the new heir
⦁ If there are other grown ups in the household you may kill the ex while the child is still young (Optional if you want to act more like the show)
Gen 4: ✨Festiva Butterfly✨
⦁ Must have the outgoing and insider traits
⦁ Must Complete the party animal aspiration
⦁ Must Complete the Social Media Career (any branch)
⦁ If the 'great-uncle/aunt' if still around, have them be close friends until they die
⦁ Must throw a party at least once a week
⦁ Must attend every party there are invited to
⦁ Get gold in all party types
⦁ Have one child then when the oldest is a toddler, try for a baby one last time
⦁ The second child will become the next heir
Gen 4.5: ⚫️Dirhhennia Butterfly⚫️
⦁ Must have the gloomy trait
⦁ Barely do anything, don’t get a job or go to school
⦁ Never shower, only get baths
⦁ Get into a relationship with someone who is also gloomy
⦁ Stay with the partner until death
⦁ Both must sleep in a tent outside
Gen 5: 🐰Crescenta Butterfly🐰
⦁ Must have the cheerful and Erratic
⦁ Must drink coffee at least once per day
⦁ Must be a leader of a club with other princesses in it (either make some up or make the canon ones)
⦁ Do volunteer work at least once a week
⦁ Must complete the Politician Career (either branch)
⦁ Must master the witting and dancing skills
⦁ Must complete the Bestselling Author aspiration
⦁ Must have a best friend with a mermaid until death (if you don't own island living, make a green sims that lives the outdoors)
⦁ Now I don't know if this is true or not but I hear somewhere that Crescenta and Emily where once dating so if you can make then spouses and even have the next heir with then or have a different bio parent (Optional, also if you do that Emily, make her a doctor)
⦁ Have only one child
Gen 6: ♾Rhina Butterfly♾
⦁ Must master both logic and writing skill
⦁ Must have the genius and/or creative trait
⦁ Must complete either the the writing (author branch) or the Freelancer (Writer)career
⦁ Must have a best friend till death
⦁ Marry and have a child with a vampire,
⦁ Have the vampire spouse die either before the baby is born or while the child is still young
⦁ Have only one child
⦁ Own five cats or dogs
Gen 7: 🌙Celena Butterfly🌙
⦁ Must have the loner and clumsy trait
⦁ May have any career
⦁ Must master writing, vampire lore, logic and herbalism skills
⦁ Don’t leave the house other than school or work
⦁ Be close to their living parent and child
⦁ Have one child
⦁ If they a vampire, cure it once they are able to or turn aging for vampires on if using MCCC
Gen 8: 🌸Estrella Butterfly🌸
⦁ Must the art lover trait
⦁ Must master the art skill
⦁ Must complete the painter career (any branch)
⦁ Must not ever sing or write (this also means homework)
⦁ Must marry a music lover/ someone who is in the Entertainer career
⦁ Have only one child
Gen 9: 🦋Comet Butterfly🦋
⦁ Must have foodie and Family-oriented trait
⦁ Must master the cooking, baking skills (can also master the gourmet cooking if you don't have GTW or want to make it a bit harder)
⦁ Must complete the Culinary (Chef Branch) career
⦁ Marry a co-worker or another foodie
⦁ Must have only one child and have a good relationship with the child
⦁ Once the heir is born or is at least very young, get divorced
⦁ Die once the heir is a teen (half way done the teen life stage would be the best)
Gen 10: ♦️moon butterfly♦️
⦁ Must have snob trait
⦁ Must be enemies with Vampires and Aliens as a teen (only after Comet's death)
⦁ Wear black though all of the grieving period and only wear other colours once it's ended
⦁ After the grieving period, may start being friends with your future spouse
⦁ Keep the enemyship until death
⦁ Must complete the politician career
⦁ Must have one child
gen 11: ❤️Star Butterfly❤️
⦁ Must have the Erratic trait
⦁ Must master the fitness and writing skills
⦁ Must be enemies with parent's main enemies until death
⦁ Must marry a high school sweetheart
⦁ Have a best friend
⦁ May also be in the politician career
I'm sorry if this is rude or silly to ask since this is a new legacy but if you do this challenge please give a thought to either post your family on to anywhere or make a plum tree cause if even one person uses this I really want to see how others make their Butterfly family and again if you have the sims 3 and most or all the packs please check out the challenge it’s based off of and it's really fun
